Our fun adventures!

Well it started Monday night at about 10:45 when we heard a loud car crash outside our window. We look out to see what has happened and the neighbor's trailer is through our fence in the back yard and the car that hit it is no where to be seen. So we call the cops talk to the neighbors, assess the damage, realize there is nothing we can do because the car is gone. Needless to say I couldn't get back to sleep for several hours because the neighbor's husband who was at work got home about an hour later and was out there being REALLY LOUD for about an hour and I was still all worked up from the whole thing. The adrenaline rush is KILLER!!

So Tuesday morning Maya got up at 6 but then went back to sleep, so I woke her up at 9:30 to get ready to go swimming, we get all ready and are in the car heading out and driving down 9th when I see this car that looks like the one the neighbor described she saw speeding away last night and there is a cop there. So I drive by a second time and yep the whole front corner of the car is all tore up, so I drive by twice more to try and get a plate number. Then I call Ricky to find out what I should do. I come home and call the cops with the accident report # I got last night and give them the info on the car I just saw. So then I call Ricky again, he tells me to go make sure the neighbor still has the bag of parts he picked up off the street and to tell him not to remove the trailer just yet, in case the cops want to come check it out. So I am taking Maya out of her car seat to go tell the neighbors and she is SOAKING wet. Yeah, swim diapers SUCK!!! Her car seat is soaking, everything is pee wet! So I take her out give her a quick bath and get her dressed, take the cover off the car seat and throw it in the washer! Before I get the chance to go talk to the neighbor there is a loud knock at the door and it is a detective. I rehash the whole store for him and then the crime lab guy shows up to take a bunch of pictures. They said that a detective will follow up with us.

When the neighbor pulled his trailer out of our fence we lost another section of the fence and a third is about to fall. We had been pricing fencing and planned on replacing it, now we just have to do it sooner than later!

Sounds like good times. You'll look back at this fondly, even if it kind of sucks now.

I am so sorry!!! It always seems like when something bad happens, everything else just falls apart.

OH WOW. I hope insurance is helping to pay for the fence. And I'm glad you hunted down the hit-and-run bandit!
