Baby Boy is here!

Our baby boy, Joel Grayson, arrived to our family on Friday April 17th at 7:18 pm. He weighs 6 lbs 14 oz and is 17.5 inches long. It was a quick delivery, much quicker than I ever imagined it would be. I was admitted at a 3 at 10 am, the pit was started at about 11:30 am. The doc broke my water at 3 pm. I got my epidural at 4:30 pm and he was born at 7:18 pm with just three contractions of pushing. It was fast!! I wasn't quite prepared for it to happen that fast, infact I just about had an anxiety attack because I was planning on it taking longer and having a little more time, but it didn't work that way. It went very smoothly and I am feeling great! He is adorable!

Maya came and met the brother this morning and was so sweet with him. She wanted to hold him and give him kisses. Ricky was handing Joel to his brother and Maya reached out to grab him. She held him on her lap and gave him kisses. She was thrilled with him and so cute. She’s going to be a great big sister.

The pics are in no specific order! Enjoy!

Sleep Study

Maya snores like a truck, so she had a sleep study a week or so ago to see what the deal was. It was not a fun night. She did great until they put the thing in her nose to track her breathing, then she screamed for 45 minutes until she passed out. Ricky stayed overnight with her and said she didn't snore one bit, great! We should have results in a few weeks. The doc said her tonsils are big, so that might be the issue. Hopefully it isn't anything to worry too much about.

Easter fun

Easter we enjoyed dyeing eggs with Maya. She loved the dye and the stickers. We went to wheeler farm on Saturday for a little egg hunt and then checked out all the animals. She loved the animals, except the Turkeys, they scared her. Sunday we have family over for Easter dinner and all the adults watched Maya pick up eggs around the yard.

The cutest tush on the block!

If you would have told me a year ago that I would be using cloth diapers, I probably would have laughed at you and told you there wasn't a chance in the world. Well I was wrong! I have become obsessed with cloth diapering and making my own cloth diapers. There has been a slight learning curve to sewing diapers and I still have lots to learn, but I must admit it is sort of fun! I've found all sorts of cute fleece to make diapers out of and Maya's stash of diapers is slowly growing. I have lots of diapers still to make and just got some new laminated fabric to try out this week. I am also waiting on some snap pliers I ordered, so I can make some with snaps (currently they all have velcro). Not only are we saving money (or at least we will in the long run), my daughter also has the cutest bum around!

She actually has a bum now and her pants stay up, just another perk!

Say Cheesey!

Maya is such a cheese ball! Yes this is her new favorite way to smile, but she only seems to do it right after I have taken a picture or when there is no camera to be found. I finally caught her the other day!
