Some of you may know and some of you might not, but Maya had her Tonsils and Adenoids out on the 15th and what a trip this has been! Her surgery was originally scheduled for 2:30, but lucky for Ricky who had to keep her from eating and drinking all day, the hospital called at 9 am and said they could get her in as soon as he could get her there. So she had her surgery at 11 am. It was fast, 25 minutes from the time we left her until the doctor came out to tell us that the sugery went great. Recovery was exactly the opposite, long and drawn out. Poor girl was in lots of pain and first dose of Lortab just didn't do enough for her, after 2 hours she was screaming and the nurse was telling us we had to wait 2 more hours for more. Finally they called the doc and uped her dose, but after that pain she didn't want to eat or drink. So for the next two days we bribed, begged, and cried trying to get her to drink something so we could go home from the hospital. It was finally Wednesday at about 1 pm, after a nice long nap and a chat from Grandpa that she decided to drink and boy did she. She had almost 3 whole popcicles, a can of juice, a carton of milk, some water, string cheese, and some of mom's french fries. The minute that Resident walked into the room I ran through a list of what she had eaten and then ordered him to write orders for us to get out of there. We finally made it home at 6 pm on Wednesday. Maya is now feeling much better. She hasn't had any pain meds today and other than being a bit whiney at times and still acting clingy some she is doing fantastic! Hopefully she will sleep better too!
The afternoon after surgery. Poor Baby!

Talking to Grandma and Grandpa on the phone, while they were enjoying Hawaii.

A ride in the hospital bed upstairs to a real room because she won't drink.

Art work on the nurse's white board.

One last nap with Poppy before going home.

Poor little girl! I'm glad she's doing better.
That poor little child and you guys have been through the ringer! I hope the surgery worked and she will be snore-free! What an ordeal.
